Salisbury is the largest city in Maryland's Eastern Shore region of United States. It is often referred as "the Crossroads of Delmarva".It is located on the upper portion of Wicomico River. Salisbury has a total area of 11.4 square miles .The City has numerous parks and recreational fields. The All-America City Award 2010, has been bagged by Salisbury. Salisbury is ranked as the second largest commercial port of Maryland. Salisbury is a popular holiday destination.

Salisbury provide endless recreational opportunities. Visitors are attracted by the Pemberton HistoricalPark and the Salisbury Architectural Museum.Many festivals are held by the resort communities like waterfront festivals, and fishing tournaments. Visitors can enjoy boating and swimming.Pemberton park has fresh water ponds, upland pines, hardwood forests and meadows that allows the visitors to enjoy the hiking.

There are a number of 18th- and 19th-century buildings, churches, and homes. The national cemetery in Salisbury was the place where the soldiers of civil war were burried. The native species of animals can be seen in the Salisbury Zoo. The native flamingos,alligators and the red wolves can be found in the Zoo. The oldest known andean bear, is also housed in this Zoo. The Zoo do not charge any entrance fee. Other native animals found in the Zoo are jaguars, turtles, macaws, rescuedraptors and owls.Boat shows, museum events, arts and crafts shows, are the other attractions of the city . 

The city is served by airline service at the Wicomico Regional Airport, This airport is second busiest airport in Maryland. It is the only commercial airport on the Delmarva Peninsula.
